1. Who should take a Board Ready class?
Our classes are designed for cosmetology and barber students who have completed their required school hours, graduates preparing for their first practical examination, students retaking the exam, and out-of-state professionals seeking Missouri licensure.
2. Are classes held in person or online?
Board Ready classes are conducted live through Zoom, allowing students to participate from the comfort of their own homes. Students will need a reliable internet connection and a device that supports Zoom.
3. How long are the classes?
The cosmetology preparation course includes three days of instruction totaling approximately five instructional hours. The barber course schedule and instructional details will be provided during enrollment.
4. What will I learn in class?
Students will review practical exam expectations, practice exam procedures, learn how to organize their supplies, and participate in a guided mock board examination with instructor feedback.
5. Do I need to complete my school hours before enrolling?
Board Ready is intended for students who have completed their required training hours and are preparing for their practical licensing examination. If you have questions about your eligibility, please contact us before enrolling.
6. Do I need a student kit
Yes. Having the appropriate supplies is an important part of practical exam preparation. Students may purchase a Board Ready kit or obtain the required supplies separately. Students are responsible for ensuring that their supplies meet the applicable examination requirements.
7. How much do the classes cost?
Cosmetology preparation course: $100
Barber preparation course: $85

8. Can I receive a discount on my student kit?
Yes! Students who enroll in a Board Ready preparation course receive 20% off a qualifying Board Ready student kit. The discount applies only to students enrolled in a preparation course. Student kits may also be purchased separately for $90, and individual supplies may
be available for separate purchase.
9. How do I enroll?
Visit our Enrollment page, complete the enrollment form, and select your preferred course
and class date. Follow the payment instructions provided to complete your registration.
10. What happens after I enroll?
You will receive information regarding your class schedule, Zoom access, preparation instructions, and any additional details needed before class. Please make sure your contact information is accurate so you can receive important updates.
11. What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Please review the applicable policies before making a purchase or enrolling.
12. Will taking a Board Ready class guarantee that I pass my state board examination?
No. Board Ready provides educational preparation and practice but cannot guarantee a passing examination result. Your outcome depends on several factors, including your preparation, performance, and ability to follow the applicable examination requirements.
13. Is Board Ready affiliated with the Missouri State Board?
No. Board Ready is an independent exam preparation service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners.
